Neon Genesis Evangelion!

1. They found her body, and charged Meechaiel Khalil Criner with the strangling. The source was  anonymous. They provided this information because they felt obligated to help out the public in the murder of the woman. This has attracted national coverage due to the shock value inherent in a murder of a young woman.

2. Tech employers tend to pay women less than men for the same job. Hired.com is a website dedicated to surveying the jobs and salaries of different people in the area. The cause of this inequity, says Hired.com, is the fact that women expect and are expected to settle for a lower salary than men. This doesn't really say much about technology companies in general, but more about the state of the american job market. The article does seem like it is promoting Hired.com a bit to much, but that probably just because all the instances in which it says the name are highlighted.

3. Pat McCrory tried to go back on his law banning transgendered people access to the bathrooms that match their gender identity, but took half measures, only implementing an executive order that disallows discrimination in jobs. The ACLU called him out on this. Many businesses and performers have cancelled the projects and tours for the state, as a protest to the law.

4. The number of child suicide bombers in Boko Haram has increased 11-fold from 4 to 44 in a year. A consequence of this trend, aside from the many deaths, is a distrust of children, which will cause distraught in the communities. These are not suicide attacks due to the children being forced into them or not truly understanding the consequences of their actions. Boko Haram is an Islamic extremist terrorist group that terrorizes Africa as a way to reclaim the lands that they were "forced out" of. It and Al-Qaida are both aligned in religion and both have similar goals, but are different in location. Many people join them to get ahead economically.

5. Story on Flint Michigan water crisis. Told people to start to use water in order to flush out the pipes to accelerate the repair rate. Very good, quick and informative.

6. The top ten list is essentially a very formulaic cluster of sports columns, shortened down for people to pick and choose the athletes that they support. It wasn't interesting, and I would cut all of them and replace it with something that didn't appeal to the crotchety old men who read these.

  1. Sometimes like a crotchety young man. But this is a very accurate and complete quiz. Even if it lacks sufficient detail in a couple of places. 98
